Job Title: Forklift Driver
Location: Tamworth 
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-time

Role Overview

A well-established, family-run manufacturing business with over 40 years of industry experience is looking to recruit a dependable and experienced Warehouse Operative to join their small, friendly warehouse team. This position has become available due to the planned retirement of a long-standing employee, offering a unique 6-month handover with comprehensive training.

The ideal candidate will be level-headed, self-motivated, and confident working on their own in a busy warehouse setting.

Main Duties
  • Working in line with written safety procedures and standard operating guidelines
  • Picking orders within an 8,000 sq ft warehouse (around 200 picks per day)
  • Receiving, booking in, and storing stock correctly
  • Moving stock between the manufacturing site and warehouse locations
  • Carrying out stock checks and inventory control tasks
  • Repacking and weighing smaller consignments
  • Processing and booking in returned goods
  • Goods-in duties, including unloading and storing raw materials
  • Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and well organised
Candidate Requirements Essential:
  • Valid Reach and Counterbalance forklift licences
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Strong spoken and written English skills
  • Reliable, honest, and able to work independently
  • Calm under pressure with a proactive mindset
  • Polite and professional when interacting with customers
Desirable:
  • VNA forklift licence
