Electrician – Home Adaptations – London/Home Counties - £24 per hour

Location: Multiple sites across London and the Home Counties
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Pay rate: £24.00 per hour

The Role

An established and well-regarded property adaptation contractor is seeking a skilled Electrician to join its growing team. The role involves electrical installation and associated works within residential and small commercial environments, primarily focused on property adaptations such as bathrooms, wet rooms and kitchens.

Much of the work is surface-mounted, so a high standard of workmanship is essential, particularly when installing trunking and containment systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completing domestic and light commercial electrical installations
  • Carrying out fault finding, repairs, and remedial works
  • Performing electrical testing and inspections in line with current regulations
  • Supporting small installation projects and planned works
  • Providing regular progress updates to line management
  • Identifying and reporting any issues that may impact timescales or resources
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed in compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Undertaking additional duties where reasonably required
About You

You will be a reliable and detail-oriented electrician with experience working in occupied properties. You’ll be comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team, and confident when working in environments that may include vulnerable individuals.

Essential experience and attributes include:
  • Background in social housing or similar residential settings
  • Experience installing electrics in wet rooms (desirable)
  • Strong experience with surface-mounted wiring and plastic trunking
  • Ability to interpret drawings, plans and wiring diagrams
  • Good fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of current IEE Wiring Regulations
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • A methodical, safety-conscious approach to work
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and priorities
Additional knowledge preferred:
  • Awareness of working with vulnerable people
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (BS7671:2022)
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 3 advantageous but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence (clean)
