Yard Operative

We’re looking for a reliable and hard-working Yard Operative to join our client’s busy foundry and recycling facility in Congleton.
This is a hands-on role involving general yard duties, material handling, and supporting production teams with day-to-day operations. You’ll be working both indoors and outdoors, so applicants must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities of this Yard Operative role:

• General yard work including manual handling, sorting, and moving materials
• Picking and separating materials for recycling or processing
• Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles
• Keeping the yard clean, safe, and well-organised
• Following all health & safety procedures and wearing PPE at all times
• Supporting production and maintenance teams as required

Skills & Experience required for this Yard Operative role:

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude – reliability is essential
• Experience in a yard, recycling, or manufacturing environment advantageous
• FLT licence desirable but not essential (training may be provided)

Details of this Yard Operative role:

• £12.50 per hour
• Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:30 (no weekends)
