• Key Duties: Teach Music at Key Stage 3 and 4, inspire students, and develop their musical skills

 
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT to join a small but well-equipped Music Department. You will have the chance to lead your own classes and develop students' musical abilities, whether it’s through practical music-making, composition, or understanding music theory. You will teach both Key Stage 3 and 4, helping students appreciate the impact of music on their lives and encourage their creativity. The department provides a supportive environment where you can develop your teaching style and build your confidence.
 
The Candidate
The school is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic ECT who:

• Has a degree in Music and QTS (or is on track to achieve it by September 2025)
• Has a solid understanding of the Key Stage 3 and 4 Music curriculum
• Is passionate about inspiring students to explore music and develop their musical skills
• Has good classroom management skills and can create engaging lessons for a range of abilities
• Works well both independently and collaboratively within a small department

• ECF-based training modules: Covering pedagogy, behaviour management, curriculum design, assessment, and professional conduct
• Assigned mentor: A dedicated and experienced teacher providing regular feedback, guidance, and one-on-one support
• Observation and feedback sessions: Structured classroom observations with detailed feedback from senior staff
• Personalised development plan: Targeted support based on your strengths and areas for growth
• Professional development opportunities: Workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance your teaching skills
• Workload management strategies: Guidance on lesson planning, marking, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance
• Collaboration with Music department colleagues: Share ideas, resources, and best practices with your department colleagues

 
This induction programme is designed to provide you with the skills, confidence, and support needed to thrive as an Early Career Teacher.
