Behaviour Mentor – Hackney – Immediate Start

A high-SEN school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, behavioural challenges, or additional needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviours.
  • An understanding of strategies for supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.
  • A commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to develop and deliver personalised support plans.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting resilience, self-regulation, and social skills.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adapting support as needed to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.
