Premises Manager

Premises Manager – Merton – Immediate Start (3-Month Contract) 
Pertemps Education is currently seeking a proactive and experienced Premises Manager to join a well-regarded special needs school in Merton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong site management experience to support the smooth running of school operations. The role is available for an immediate start and will be offered on an initial 3-month basis, with the potential for extension. 
 
Location: Merton 
Start Date: Immediate 
Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract 
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience  
 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Oversee the day-to-day management of the school premises, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors 

• Carry out regular health & safety checks, risk assessments, and fire safety procedures 

• Manage site security, opening and closing procedures, and supervision of contractors and external services 

• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs, or coordinate with contractors for larger works 

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for a specialist education setting 

• Liaise with senior leadership to prioritise tasks and report on site-related matters 
   

Requirements: 

• Proven experience within a school setting 

• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, site maintenance, and facilities management 

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across a varied workload 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach 

• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one 

• Understanding of the needs and sensitivities in working within a special needs education environment is an advantage
