Primary SEN Teacher – Autism Provision (High Needs)
Location: Lambeth, SW2
Contract: Full-time
Salary: Inner London Pay Scale (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance)

About the Role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join a specialist autism provision in Lambeth, supporting pupils with high needs autism. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference within a well-resourced and supportive SEN environment.
You will deliver a personalised curriculum tailored to pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), many of whom have complex communication and sensory needs.
Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons linked to EHCP outcomes
• Create a structured, consistent, and nurturing classroom environment
• Support pupils’ communication, social development, and emotional regulation
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and parents/carers
• Track and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
• Implement effective behaviour and sensory strategies to support learning

Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching pupils with autism and complex needs
• Has worked in an SEN School or specialist provision (highly desirable)
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of autism-friendly teaching approaches
• Is patient, flexible, and committed to inclusive education

Desirable:

• Experience using the Attention Autism approach
• Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication systems
• Experience supporting children with sensory processing differences
