Behaviour Mentor – PRU
Are you a resilient and motivated Behaviour Mentor looking for a rewarding opportunity to support young people who face significant barriers to learning? Do you have the confidence and patience to work with students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education? This Pupil Referral Unit in South Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support Key Stage 4 students in a structured and supportive environment.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with Key Stage 4 students, providing 1-2-1 mentoring and in-class support to help them manage behaviour, re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes. You will build strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent positive role model, supporting emotional regulation, attendance and personal development.
This is a rewarding and hands-on role suited to someone who is calm under pressure, confident managing challenging behaviour and passionate about helping young people succeed.

Job Role:
  • Providing 1-2-1 mentoring for Key Stage 4 students
  • Supporting students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education
  • Assisting with behaviour management in lessons and around the school
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and resilience
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies
  • Monitoring and reporting on behaviour, attendance and progress
  • Contributing to a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
