This welcoming alternative provision in Walsall is seeking a Primary Teacher to join their team, teaching small classes of pupils who have struggled to succeed in mainstream education. In this Primary Teacher role, you will be teaching small groups of primary-aged pupils who have social, emotional or behavioural needs. Every class benefit from Teaching Assistant support, and the school’s caring approach ensures that every pupil is seen as an individual with great potential.
Job Role:
- Teaching small classes of primary-aged pupils who require additional support
- Planning engaging lessons that build confidence and close learning gaps
- Building positive relationships and creating a nurturing classroom environment
- Managing behaviour using consistent strategies and trauma-informed practice
- Working alongside Teaching Assistants who provide 1-2-1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils emotionally as well as academically
- QTS with strong primary curriculum knowledge
- Experience teaching pupils who need additional support (SEMH desirable)
- Excellent behaviour management and the ability to motivate disengaged learners
- A positive, patient and resilient mindset
- Outstanding support from an experienced leadership team
- Small class sizes that allow for individualised teaching
