HLTA – Secondary – SEMH & SEND Support
Are you a skilled and passionate HLTA with a strong background in supporting students with SEMH and SEND? This thriving secondary school is seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated inclusion team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a HLTA to step into a key leadership support role, working closely with the SENCO, managing a team of Teaching Assistants, and helping to shape the delivery of high-quality support across the school.

As a HLTA, you will take the lead in delivering targeted interventions in lessons, supporting individual and small groups of students in the SEND Hub, and helping pupils with a range of additional needs to succeed. You will support the planning and implementation of support strategies, act as a role model for best practice, and contribute to the ongoing development of inclusive teaching across the school. The successful candidate must have excellent communication, behaviour management, and team leadership skills, along with a proven track record of working in a similar setting.

Job Role:
  • Supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs in the classroom and the SEND Hub
  • Delivering small group interventions and academic catch-up programmes
  • Managing a small team of Teaching Assistants and supporting their development
  • Assisting the SENCO in planning and implementing support strategies
  • Promoting inclusion and raising achievement for all learners
