Job Description
Are you an experienced English Teacher looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have the passion and leadership skills to drive forward English attainment in an Alternative Provision setting? A highly supportive AP in Birmingham is looking for a dedicated Lead English Teacher to join their team, teaching small groups of students up to GCSE level while leading a small team of English Teachers.
This role requires a Lead English Teacher who is a strong classroom practitioner with excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to engage students who have become disengaged with education. Working with small class sizes, you will have the opportunity to provide tailored support to students, helping them to achieve their full potential. The school has excellent leadership and a strong pastoral team that provides outstanding support to staff and students alike. This role requires an experienced English Teacher or Lead English Teacher who has an excellent understanding of the GCSE English curriculum and is comfortable leading a team.
Job Role:
- Teaching English to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
- Leading and supporting a small team of English teachers, driving standards and outcomes.
- Developing and implementing an inspiring and inclusive English curriculum.
- Using a creative and flexible approach to teaching, ensuring all students can achieve success.
- Working closely with pastoral staff to support students’ engagement and well-being.
- A middle leadership role in an AP setting that has an outstanding reputation.
