Job Description
A dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher is required to join a well-established special school in Birmingham that supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism, communication impairment, Aspergers, and physical disabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where pupils are supported to reach their full potential.
With excellent leadership, a collaborative team, and a strong focus on pupil well-being, this school provides a welcoming and well-resourced setting for both staff and pupils. The successful teacher will be responsible for delivering a broad and engaging curriculum to small classes, ensuring that each pupil receives the individualised support they need to succeed.
Job Role:
- Teaching a creative and engaging curriculum to pupils with SEND
- Adapting lessons to suit a range of learning needs and abilities
- Working closely with teaching assistants and therapists to provide tailored support
- Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to promote progress and well-being
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
- Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly those with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties
- A patient, empathetic, and creative approach to teaching
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- A commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people
