Blue Badge Assessor
Location: Hackney
Rate per hour: £35 per hour
Working Arrangements: Flexible working – remote options available

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Blue Badge Assessor to support Hackney in clearing a backlog of 100 cases that have developed during a period of absence.

This role focuses on assessing Blue Badge applications from individuals with non-visible (hidden) disabilities, such as autism, dementia, or severe mental health conditions. Applicants may experience very considerable difficulty walking or may pose a serious risk to themselves or others in traffic situations.

About the Role: You will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing detailed medical evidence
  • Conducting telephone and/or face-to-face assessments
  • Making independent, evidence-based recommendations regarding eligibility
  • Assessing risk and functional mobility in line with current Blue Badge guidance
Requirements:
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
  • Proven experience completing Blue Badge assessments (essential)
  • Strong understanding of non-visible disabilities and functional mobility assessments
  • Ability to work independently and make clear, defensible decisions
  • Familiarity with relevant Blue Badge eligibility criteria and guidance
This role can potentially be completed remotely, offering flexibility, although in-person assessments may be required where appropriate.
