If you are a leader who thrives on driving operational brilliance while fostering a culture of empowerment and resilience, this is your opportunity to leave a legacy on both the landscape and the team that sustains it. This is a fantastic opportunity, supported by an experienced surrounding team, to help you grow and shape the future of Thames Water.
What you’ll be doing as a Performance Manager:
- Leadership: Inspiring, coaching, and developing your team to create a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
- Health, Safety, and Well-being: Ensuring "Zero Harm" and fostering a culture of competence and safety, with particular focus on DSEAR and biogas safety protocols.
- Environmental Impact: Enhancing the health of the Hogsmill River through exceptional environmental performance while maximising renewable energy generation as part of our journey to Net Zero.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Strengthening ties with customers, regulators, and community stakeholders to build trust and proactive engagement.
- Operational Excellence: Managing processes, budgets, and resources efficiently to meet and exceed financial targets, leveraging data and innovation to optimise operations.
- Strategic Planning: Moving beyond daily tasks to plan and implement long-term operational strategies for site improvements and asset resilience.
- Out-of-Hours Leadership: Participating in an out-of-hours roster with the management team to maintain site continuity and responsiveness.
Working pattern or hours: 36 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)
What you should bring to the role?
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:
- Proven experience in managing operational teams, with an ability to inspire and engage employees to drive performance.
- A genuine enthusiasm for environmental improvement and renewable energy initiatives.
- A robust understanding of H&S principles; you will be the designated Controller of Premises.
- Experience in managing budgets and driving cost efficiencies.
- The ability to prioritise effectively and think beyond daily operations to deliver long-term site goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of production processes and operational strategy with a structured, proactive approach.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Previous experience within water or a similar industry.
- Offering a salary up to £60,000, depending on skills and experience.
- Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
- Performance-related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets
- Generous Pension Scheme through AON
- Access to lots of benefits to help you take care of you and your family’s health and wellbeing, and your finances – from annual health MOTs and access to physiotherapy and counselling, to Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers and life assurance.
