Job Description
You will be meeting and helping different people every day, working on a variety of projects, ensuring that the best service is given to Thames Water customers.
You will receive a comprehensive training plan, so no experience is needed, just the desire to learn and excellent customer service skills.
What you will be doing as a Network Service Technician
- Operation of the mains network, including controlling burst mains, and ensuring isolation of mains to facilitate planned work, emergency repairs and maintenance.
- Personal ownership of customer issues, responding to queries & complaints and resolving issues.
- Ensure water quality compliance during repairs.
- Act as local network expert for isolation and rezoning, providing information for risk assessments & sharing information regarding network risks and other Health & Safety issues.
- Reliable for investigating the clean water network to resolve poor asset performance, including high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries and loss of supply.
- Working in compliance with Company procedures, including Business Operating Plan, Health & Safety and streetworks legislation.
Working Pattern: 38 hours. (1 in 8 weeks late shifts and 1 in 8 weeks standby rota)
Requirements: A clean UK driving license and be happy to drive between jobs.
What you should bring to the role:
- Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, so previous customer service experience within a constantly changing environment is essential.
- As the role involves driving daily, the ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and be happy to drive between jobs.
- Previous experience in domestic plumbing or water mains and leakage would be advantageous, however, full training is provided.
- NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds / GCSE) or equivalent is desirable.
- IT skills – will be required to communicate via a portable device.
- Have excellent customer service skills.
- Have excellent time management.
- Have a can-do and positive attitude.
- Competitive salary from £28,000 per annum, depending on your skills and experience.
- Company Van, fuel card, PPE and tools are provided.
- Full training is provided.
- Annual Leave - 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
- Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
