Job Description

The Cloud Engineer will assist in the configuration and support of Public Cloud services that support Thames Water's Digital estate. They will work with project teams to build out cloud deployments according to agreed designs and provide ongoing support.

Base location – Hybrid Clear Water Court Reading
Working hours – 36 hours
Necessary requirements for the role – MUST be able to come to the office a minimum of one day a week.

What you’ll be doing as a Cloud Engineer
- Deploying and supporting Public Cloud services (IaaS, PaaS etc) according to agreed designs.
- Respond to incidents and requests via Service Now and the team mailbox, working with senior members of the team to resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible. Automate deployment, scaling, and management of cloud resources
- Monitor cloud environments to ensure security, compliance, and performance standards are met.

What you should bring to the role
- IT related degree or the equivalent
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms ideally Azure
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure and automation tools such as Terraform
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Competitive salary from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum depending on experience
