Job Description

Maintaining good relationships with our regulators and championing an open and transparent approach to our performance is a key part of our plan; and this role plays a crucial part in ensuing our regulators are kept informed.
The primary purpose of this role as Regulatory Investigations Advisor (Comms & Learning) will be to hold the business to account regarding our regulatory commitments, playing a vital role in preventing future enforcement action. You will keep internal stakeholders informed on key risks coming from regulatory investigations, and will also ensure that lessons learned from each investigation are applied across the business to improve performance.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with colleagues in the Regulatory Investigations team to successfully plan and deliver responses to requests for information; and build relationships with teams across the business with a primary initial focus on colleagues in Asset, Operations and Capital Delivery. You will challenge relevant internal stakeholders to deliver on regulatory commitments; and play a vital role in preventing future enforcement action.
You will ensure key stakeholders are kept updated as to emerging risks during the investigation; and then will disseminate lessons learned to other areas of the business. The role will support the Regulatory Investigations Manager in updating senior internal stakeholders; and building successful relationships with our Regulators such as Ofwat, the Environment Agency and the Drinking Water Inspectorate.

What you'll be doing as Regulatory Investigations Advisor (Comms & Learnings)
- Liaising with relevant business units to gather documentation and data in response to formal requests from regulators as part of new and ongoing regulatory investigations.
- Auditing and challenging relevant stakeholders to ensure delivery of regulatory commitments made during investigations.
- Ensure key stakeholders are kept updated as to emerging risks during the investigation; and then will disseminate lessons learned to other areas of the business.
- Working with colleagues in the Regulatory investigations team to develop processes to ensure consistency of approach.
- Working to promote recognition and understanding of regulatory issues within the business.
- Experience working with documentation, ideally within a Regulated environment
- Attention to detail, organised and a desire to learn
- Good relationship building experience is critical
- Must be comfortable applying experience to unfamiliar areas of the business (e.g. water, waste, retail, finance)
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

- Competitive salary from £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
- Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
