Job Description

"Success is a process, not an event." – Gary Halbert

Sheridan Maine is working with a growing organisation to recruit a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day accounts payable function, with opportunities to take ownership of specific areas and contribute to ongoing process improvements within the team.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Assistant will include:
  • Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses, credit card statements, bank transactions, and payments for authorisation.
  • Handling invoice and expense queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Completing regular reconciliations, including accounts payable listings and bank statements.
  • Taking responsibility for defined areas of the AP function, such as specific regions, expense categories, or payment processes.
  • Supporting improvements to AP processes, including purchase order controls, approval workflows, and efficiency of transaction processing.
Skills and experience required to succeed as an Accounts Payable Assistant:
  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or finance support role.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of transactions accurately.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
This is a great opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a collaborative finance team, gain exposure to process improvement initiatives, and develop their skills within a supportive and flexible working environment.
