Job Description
As a successful candidate, you will using your mechanical & electrical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment, in a safe efficient timely and effective manner with minimum supervision allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefits of our customers

What you'll be doing as an Electrical Technician
- Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
- Carry out planned maintenance work on electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns.
- Provided technical advice to the wider team, referred to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provided training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Using technical equipment such as various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
Base Location: Crossness - Abbey Wood, South East London - SE2 9AQ.
Working Pattern or hours: 38 hours Monday-Friday, plus the inclusion of an out-of-hours Rota for which you will receive additional payment.
PPE, Tools and a Van will be provided.
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering.
What you should bring to the role:
- Have considerable experience in electrical systems. A time-served apprenticeship in the engineering sector, NVQ level 3 or greater in electrical engineering.
- You will have qualifications in BS7671 or 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations. Experience in maintaining, testing, installing and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience with 3-phased systems.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety policies and processes are essential.
- The work will require physical fitness, as you will work in confined spaces with the successful completion of the appropriate training.
- Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment, for which you will receive additional payment.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- You will need to undertake role-specific training to fulfil any safety and team competency requirements.

- Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
