About the Role:
We’re looking for a Vocational Instructor specialising in Plant Mechanics or HGV with plant experience to deliver high-quality training and education to learners and apprentices at Bircham Newton site. You will inspire and guide the next generation of construction professionals by combining your industry experience with engaging classroom and practical teaching.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Deliver theory and hands-on practical training aligned with modern construction industry standards
β€’ Create high-quality, inclusive teaching materials and lesson plans
β€’ Use diagnostic assessments to tailor support and ensure learners' progress
β€’ Provide timely, constructive feedback to learners
β€’ Track and report learner progress using learner management systems
β€’ Support apprentices' development of core English, maths, digital and employability skills
β€’ Engage with employers, assessors, and internal support teams to maintain consistent learning pathways
β€’ Attend periodic reviews and ensure learners stay on track, offering intervention support as required
β€’ Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding policy
β€’ Maintain up-to-date industry and teaching knowledge through CPD activities

Required Qualifications & Experience:
βœ… Level 3 qualification in Plant Mechanics or HGV with plant experience
βœ… Recent and relevant experience in the construction or plant/HGV industry
βœ… Excellent knowledge of modern industry practices and health & safety standards
βœ… Minimum Level 3 Teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve within 12 months)
βœ… Assessor Award (or willingness to achieve within 12 months)
βœ… Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths
βœ… Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
βœ… Strong communication and organisational skills

βž• Higher-level construction-related qualification
βž• Level 5 teaching qualification
βž• Experience delivering apprenticeship standards or working with awarding bodies

Other Requirements:
β€’ Flexibility to work non-standard hours when needed

β€’ Full UK Driving Licence
