SHE Manager

Company: Food and Beverage Manufacturing Company
Role: Safety Health and Environment Manager 
Salary: £60,000 per annum- £65,000 per annum + car allowance + bonus + competitive pension
Location: Burton on Trent
 
Exclusively representing a leading food and beverage manufacturing company to source a SHE Manager to empower the site to continue to take ownership. To coach and mentor a team of 4 Safety, Health and Environment professionals.
 
Seeking a hands on and people centric professional to provide Safety, Health and Environmental Support to guide the site, as well as coaching and supporting the safety team on site. This position is perfect for a SHE Manager who wants to work in a fast paced, complex manufacturing site, who likes to get stuck into large projects and have exposure to global company who genuinely sees SHE as a priority.

Main responsibilities:

• To guide the workforce on site through the next phase of SHE, offering Safety, Health and Environmental support and advice and empowering line managers.
• Mentor and coach the 4 direct reports and help them succeed
• Gain buy in and inspire stakeholders to excel in compliance and continuously improve
• Engage with external stakeholders (trades unions, local regulators, local communities, and local NGOs) on SHE topics to build long term, positive relationships
• Identify, current and future challenges, and opportunities for change at site level
• Maintain the Environmental and H&S Management System
• Develop and continuously improve site SHE programmes; the factory is moving forward with exciting projects including continuous improvement principles and actively developing Lean/TPM processes so it’s an exciting time to be join the company.
• Provide personal coaching and support to site Management Team
• Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results used to drive further improvement

 
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
• Prior SHE Management experience
• Hand on in their approach to HSE
• Fast paced general manufacturing experience but ideally from a Food or Beverage company

• Change agent who can engage and empower others and drive accountability/ ownership to the factory leaders.
• Able to collaborate, influence, gain buy -in with strong communication skills
