Job Description

Are you a HR professional lookign for a new role? Our client is a major employer within the public sector, with a strong commitment to staff wellbeing, organisational development, and delivering high-quality services. They are currently seeking a skilled and confident HR Advisor to join their team, providing expert advice and operational support across a diverse workforce. This is a hybrid role which will require the candidate to travel mostly between Glasgow and Ayrshire.

The Role:
 
As a key member of the Regional HR team, you’ll provide professional and specialist advice to managers and staff, helping to manage workforce issues, employee relations cases and change initiatives. You’ll contribute to both regional and corporate HR priorities, supporting the delivery of strategic and operational HR objectives aligned with wider public sector and NHS goals.
This is a challenging and rewarding role where you will:
  • Advise on complex employment issues including disciplinary, grievance, absence, change management and dignity at work cases.
  • Support managers through conflict resolution, organisational redesign, and workforce change.
  • Act as a key HR contact for staff-side representatives, promoting partnership working at all levels.
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation, HR policies and case law in a fair and consistent way.
  • Lead or contribute to local and national implementation groups, policy development and HR project work.
  • Deliver learning and development sessions on HR policy and employment law.
  • Produce data-driven insights to inform workforce planning and identify trends in employee relations.
 
About You:
 
You’ll be a confident, solutions-focused HR professional who thrives on variety and complexity. You will need:
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Chartered membership of the CIPD (or working towards)
  • Significant experience in an operational HR advisory role, preferably within the NHS or another large, complex, unionised organisation
  • A solid understanding of HR policy, employment law, case management and staff governance standards
  • Strong influencing, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage a busy, unpredictable workload with sensitivity and professionalism
  • Experience delivering staff training and coaching on people management issues
