OVERVIEW:
• Established criminal defence firm seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join a busy team with a focus on privately funded criminal work
• Manage a varied caseload of criminal matters while supporting Senior Lawyers on complex cases and taking responsibility for your own files where appropriate
• Involved in all aspects of case preparation including client liaison, drafting legal documents and progressing matters through to conclusion
• Excellent opportunity to transition from criminal legal aid work into private criminal defence within a supportive and well regarded firm
• Opportunity to contribute to business growth through developing client relationships and supporting business development initiatives
• Newly Qualified Solicitor required with experience in criminal law, ideally gained within a criminal Legal Aid setting
• Strong understanding of criminal procedure and ability to manage your own workload with appropriate supervision
• Excellent communication skills with a professional, proactive and client-focused approach
• Highly organised, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and motivated to develop a career in private criminal defence
