The Role

You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and assets across the estate. You will be part of an experienced in-house team providing 24/7 coverage, delivering a visible and professional security presence while upholding the organisation’s values and standards. The role includes a mix of day and night shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the security and integrity of buildings, facilities, and grounds.
* Monitor and control access for residents, tenants, staff, visitors, and contractors.
* Manage the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the estate.
* Handle keys responsibly, logging issue/return and reporting any discrepancies.
* Respond to incidents, investigate as appropriate, and liaise with management and police as necessary.
* Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, fire, lift, and intruder alarms.
* Open and secure entrances at designated times.
* Answer telephones and respond to queries in a courteous, professional manner.
* Maintain detailed records, including logs of incidents, lost/found property, and shift handovers.
* Act as a bank escort when required.
* Monitor and support contractor access and activity.
* Ensure effective communication between team members at shift changeovers.
* Remain vigilant and alert throughout the shift to identify and respond to any unusual activity.

Person Specification

* Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
* Physically able to conduct foot patrols and manage stair access within buildings.
* Strong written and spoken English skills.
* Professional and proactive approach to safety and security.
* Confident dealing with the public and able to manage phone and face-to-face enquiries.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and security system applications.

Desirable

* SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence – training can be provided.
* First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid certificate – training can be provided.
