Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Services Engineer


Salary up to £30k per year
Full-time position with potential for flexible working hours based on project requirements.



Company Overview:
With a long history and extensive experience in the water industry, this company has unrivalled expertise in pumps and pumping systems. They specialise in the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and full management service of submersible borehole pumps and associated equipment. They also offer repair and servicing, test tank facilities, and comprehensive design and build capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement pumping schemes, including site surveys, structural calculations, and detailed drawings.
  
  
• Supply, install, and commission submersible borehole pumps and associated equipment.
  
  
• Manage the repair and servicing of all types of submersible pumping plants.
  
  
• Conduct performance testing up to 220kW in our test tank facility.
  
  
• Oversee the rehabilitation of unused sources, elimination of confined spaces, and sanitary sealing of boreholes.
  
  
• Coordinate borehole re-lining work and back-filling of redundant boreholes to Environment Agency standards.
  
  
• Manage the complete installation of pumping stations, distribution mains, pipelines, and booster stations.
  
  
• Fabricate and install pipework, borehole headplates, pump shrouds, and other related equipment.
  
  
• Plan and execute pump installation and removal work, including method statements, risk assessments, lift plans, and drawings.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  
  
• Extensive experience in the water industry, particularly with pumps and pumping systems.
  
  
• Proficiency in structural calculations, preparation of detailed drawings, and project management.
  
  
• Knowledge of borehole pumping installation and maintenance.
  
  
• Industry certification for site operatives.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with large diameter machining, coded welding, and API standard threading.
  
  
• Familiarity with borehole headplates, well top cover frames, pipe specials, and open mesh flooring.
  
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
