📍 Leamington Spa (Office-based)
I’m currently working with a well-established building services consultancy in Leamington Spa that is looking to bring in a CAD / BIM Technician to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a building services background who wants to develop their BIM capability, gain exposure to a wide range of projects, and progress quickly within a supportive environment.
The Role
As a CAD / BIM Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering coordinated design information across mechanical, electrical, and public health systems using both 2D and 3D platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce coordinated 3D BIM models across MEP disciplines
- Support the development and management of Revit models
- Create 2D CAD drawings from sketches and design information
- Amend and update drawings across all project stages in line with current standards
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of drawings and models
BIM & Coordination
- Attend and support BIM coordination meetings alongside engineers
- Carry out clash detection, model interrogation, and problem solving
- Assist with live model walkthroughs to identify coordination and spatial issues
- Maintain and manage federated/master models
- Ensure interoperability between different discipline models
- Perform quality checks and data validation
Project Delivery
- Produce project outputs in line with programme deadlines
- Manage incoming and outgoing model/data exchanges
- Ensure all information is issued in the correct format and in line with project procedures
- Follow established BIM workflows and information exchange processes
- Support the team in delivering coordinated, high-quality design information
Additional Responsibilities
- Extract, analyse, and report key data from BIM models
- Create visualisations to support design reviews and highlight issues
- Support the wider team in adopting and promoting BIM on projects
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers and senior staff
What They’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience using Autodesk Design Suite, including Revit
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Background in building services with experience producing MEP drawings/models
- Good understanding of BIM processes and coordination within the industry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality outputs
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team
Desirable Skills
- Experience using Hevacomp and/or IES (advantageous)
