Location: Kettering
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday – day shift
Contract Type: Full-time – Permanent

Overview
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Stores Operative to join a busy stores department within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role within a small team, supporting goods-in, dispatch, and stock control activities.
The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Check incoming goods against delivery notes within agreed timeframes
• Book in deliveries and update stock on internal systems
• Pick, pack, and dispatch goods in line with purchase orders
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient stores area
• Raise documentation/invoices for outgoing deliveries
• Carry out regular stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records
• Issue materials to production teams
• Support continuous improvement of processes and workflows
• Assist in producing weekly/monthly performance and stock reports
• Provide support to the cutting department during peak periods or absences

About the Role

• This is a physically active position, involving manual handling and lifting (within reasonable limits). A good level of fitness is required to carry out daily tasks safely and effectively.
• You will play a key role in ensuring stock accuracy, operational efficiency, and smooth workflow across departments.

About You

• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or stock control role
• Familiarity with inventory systems (e.g. ERP or SAP)
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
