Records & Library Assistant 
Bangor (On-site, Full-time, Temporary Ongoing)
Pay: £13.46 per hour
Start Date: Immediate

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Records & Library Assistant to join their Records Management team based in Bangor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in records management, libraries, archives, or information services to contribute to an important project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Check library records, datasets, and materials against inventory lists
  • Prepare materials for scanning and create accurate digital scans
  • File and maintain digital copies within SharePoint and other archives
  • Retrieve and organise materials from library shelves, filing areas, and archives
  • Carry out data entry using Excel, MS Forms, and cataloguing systems
  • Pack items securely for relocation and long-term archival storage
  • Identify damaged items for preservation and ensure proper handling
  • Keep materials tidy and organised in archival boxes
  • Communicate clearly with team members, providing updates and raising issues where necessary
  • Safely handle materials, including lifting and carrying

Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge or experience in records management, archives, libraries, information services, or data archiving
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Good IT and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and databases
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Comfortable with manual handling of materials

This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys organising, cataloguing, and working with records in both physical and digital formats.
