Job Overview 
We are seeking an experienced CAD Engineer to join our Technical Department in Oldbury. The role involves producing accurate fabrication and general arrangement drawings, supporting clients with technical solutions, and ensuring all pipework designs meet required standards, legislation, and quality expectations.

 
         Key Responsibilities 

• Produce SolidWorks and AutoCAD fabrication drawings and general arrangement drawings for client approval
• Compile production and manufacturing instructions, including Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Work in accordance with the Technical Department processes and Quality Management System
• Assist with client requests to detail pipework systems
• Collaborate with internal teams including the Technical Director, Purchasing Manager, and Production Controller on pipework detailing and delivery scheduling
• Make decisions on best detailing practices to meet client requirements
• Liaise directly with clients to understand their goals and provide technical solutions
• Check product detailing to ensure quality, performance, and compliance with standards and client specifications
• Ensure all client-submitted designs are safe and comply with relevant legislation and industry regulations

Key Skills & Experience 
• Proven experience in pipework design and detailing
• Strong knowledge of coated carbon steel pipework (desirable)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
