The Role:
As a Remelt Metallurgist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that metal products meet stringent quality and performance standards. You’ll be responsible for evaluating and developing casting practices, monitoring key process parameters, and supporting ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, test, and monitor key process parameters including furnace operations, in-line degassing, grain refinement, and hydrogen control.
- Carry out raw material assessments and support chemical analysis and certification.
- Develop and optimise casting practices and technology (metal distribution, level control, moulds, water control, inspection).
- Coordinate maintenance and service schedules for key equipment.
- Manage departmental consumables and report on performance metrics.
- Support compliance with ISO and internal quality accreditations.
- Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of molten metal processing, casting operations, or similar industrial manufacturing environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
