Job Description
Job Title: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Golborne, Warrington (WA3)
Salary: £45,000+ per annum (DOE)
Shifts: Monday- Thursday 09:00- 17:00, Fridays 09:00- 16:30
Contract Type: Permanent
Our client, a distributor of specialist equipment used within hospitality industry is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their team.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and repair services for catering equipment, ensuring high-quality service for customers, external engineers, and internal teams. You will be managing technical queries, conducting on-site repairs, training service engineers, and maintaining product safety standards.
As a Technical Support Engineer your duties will be: -
" Assist Technical Manager to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
" Provide technical support and product information to the Sales team, external engineers, and customers.
" Attend customer sites to carry out on-site repairs and troubleshooting.
" Conduct product testing to ensure the safety and compliance on various brands within the company's portfolio.
" Review returned stock, repair, or rework as needed for grading classification or scrapping.
" Ensure correct documentation is submitted for all parts used during repairs.
" Report failure and technical issues, liaising with the Technical Manager and factory teams to prevent future problems.
" Assist the Operations Director with general building maintenance as required.
The successful Technical Support Engineer will have the following skills: -
" Must have COMCAT 1, 2, 3, 5 qualifications.
" HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical discipline would be desirable.
" Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with competence and empathy.
" Knowledge of CAD systems and HTML would be advantageous.
" Capable of inputting data while speaking to customers on the phone.
" Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to assess priorities pragmatically.
" Good attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
" Flexible approach to work, adaptable to changing priorities and team needs.
